Carolyn Schranz, a 41-year-old mother of five, was discovered deceased in a southwest neighborhood of Chicago on January 25, 2008. Her body was found by a land surveyor inspecting an area between the river and some railroad tracks. The discovery marked the beginning of an unsolved murder case that has left her family and the community seeking answers.
Discovery of the Body
On that fateful day, a surveyor working in a field near the Chicago Sanitary and Ship Canal stumbled upon human remains frozen into the ground.
