On the evening of Friday, July 17, 2015, at approximately 9:10 PM, Bryan Perkins was fatally shot in the 600 block of Edgewood Street, NE, Washington, D.C. The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) responded to the scene, but despite their efforts, the perpetrator remains unidentified. This tragic event not only ended the life of a promising individual but also left a community grappling with unanswered questions.
The Immediate Aftermath
Following the incident, the MPD's Homicide Branch took charge of the investigation. Recognizing the severity of the crime and the need for public assistance, the department released a public announcement seeking information related to the homicide. Flyers detailing the incident were distributed, and a reward of up to $25,000 was offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible.
