A Tragic Day in Southeast D.C.

On Tuesday, December 10, 2002, at approximately 11:35 a.m., the tranquility of Southeast Washington, D.C., was shattered by the sound of gunfire. In front of 1556 Alabama Avenue, SE, 19-year-old Anthony Rogers Rederick was found fatally shot. The young man, whose life was abruptly ended, became the center of an investigation that has yet to yield answers. The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) immediately sought the public's assistance in gathering information regarding this heinous crime.

The Crime Scene and Immediate Response

The location of the shooting, 1556 Alabama Avenue, SE, is situated in a residential area of Southeast D.C.
