Discovery of a Tragedy
On a quiet Sunday morning, August 14, 2016, the Park Manor neighborhood of Chicago was shaken by a grim discovery. At approximately 9:05 a.m., officers responded to a call reporting a person down in the 6700 block of South Wabash Avenue. Upon arrival, they found 21-year-old Anthony L. Nelson lying unresponsive, having suffered multiple gunshot wounds. Despite immediate attention, Nelson was pronounced dead at the scene by 9:30 a.m. An autopsy later confirmed the cause of death as homicide.
A Life Cut Short
Anthony Nelson, a resident of the 1400 block of West 78th Street, was a young man with aspirations and dreams, much like others his age.
