In the early hours of September 27, 2015, Chicago's Pilsen neighborhood was shaken by a brutal act of violence that claimed the life of 23-year-old Abraham Barrera and left another man critically wounded. The Incident
At approximately 3:20 a.m., Barrera and a 24-year-old companion were driving in the 1100 block of West 18th Street. As they proceeded, an assailant emerged from an alley and opened fire on their vehicle. Both men sustained gunshot wounds to the head. Barrera was transported to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 5:33 a.m. His companion was admitted in critical condition.
