Angela Caroline Hartmann was born on January 4, 1956, in Marin County, California, near San Rafael. She spent her formative years between the United States and Germany, reflecting a bicultural upbringing that fueled her passion for exploration and learning. In 1983, at the age of 27, Angela embarked on a journey across Canada, intending to immerse herself in new experiences before commencing her studies at Trent University in Peterborough, Ontario, that fall.
The Fateful Journey
During the summer of 1983, Angela traveled extensively between Ottawa, Thunder Bay, and Calgary. She maintained regular communication with family and friends, sending postcards that chronicled her adventures. Her last known correspondence was from Calgary in August 1983. Angela was last seen on August 22, 1983, at the Ottawa Youth Hostel in Ottawa, Ontario.
