A Life Cut Short

On March 27, 2014, the city of Odessa, Texas, was shaken by the tragic death of 28-year-old Shon Nelson Beck. Born on May 16, 1985, in Odessa, Shon was known for his deep-rooted connections to the community. From an early age, he embraced his faith, being baptized at the Rose of Sharon Baptist Church. As a devoted father, he left behind six children: Joseph, Paloma, Shonetta, Riley, DaeSean, and Zi'Drevion. His untimely passing not only devastated his family but also left a void in the hearts of those who knew him.

The Fateful Night

The events leading to Shon's death unfolded in the 900 block of Snyder Street. A confrontation escalated into violence, resulting in both Shon and another individual, Joshua Tolivar, sustaining gunshot wounds. Despite being rushed to Medical Center Hospital, Shon succumbed to his injuries.
