A Night of Tragedy at Cesar Chavez Park

On the night of August 30, 2016, the tranquility of Oakland's Fruitvale district was shattered by a heinous act of violence. At approximately 11 p.m., 28-year-old Augustine Vigil and 47-year-old Shawn Chatman were found fatally shot at Cesar Chavez Park, located near Foothill Boulevard and Harrington Avenue.
