John Arthur Butler, affectionately known as "Johnny," was a 15-year-old teenager who disappeared under mysterious circumstances on August 21, 1961, in Newport Beach, California. Despite extensive searches and investigations, his case remains unsolved, leaving a void in the hearts of his family and the community.
Born on April 28, 1946, John was a Caucasian male with brown hair and brown eyes. Standing at 6'1" and weighing approximately 159 pounds, he had several acne scars on his face. John was known for his passion for surfing, a popular activity among youths in Newport Beach during the early 1960s.
On the morning of August 21, 1961, John set out to surf in the familiar waters of Newport Beach. It was a routine he had followed numerous times, and there was nothing unusual about that day. However, as the day progressed, concern grew when John failed to return home.
