A Routine Visit Turns Tragic

In the summer of 2023, 72-year-old Edgar B. Aberilla and his wife traveled from the Philippines to Burlington, Washington, to visit their daughter, Abigail Tullius. The family participated in a Fourth of July parade in Anacortes, enjoying the festivities together. However, the celebration took a devastating turn when, unbeknownst to his family, Edgar left his daughter's home and was driven by a neighbor to a Lowe's parking lot on Sunset Drive in Bellingham. This was the last confirmed sighting of Edgar.

The Immediate Aftermath

Upon discovering her father's absence, Abigail initiated a frantic search. The neighbor, unaware of Edgar's dementia and limited English proficiency, had dropped him off approximately 30 minutes away from Burlington.
