A Fateful Night in Columbia Heights

On August 12, 2006, the vibrant neighborhood of Columbia Heights in Washington, D.C., was shaken by a tragic incident that would leave a lasting impact on the community. At approximately 12:05 AM, 25-year-old Tarran Steven Miller found himself embroiled in a heated altercation with Marlon K. Blaize, then 30 years old. The confrontation escalated rapidly, culminating in Blaize brandishing a firearm and discharging it in Miller's direction. In a desperate attempt to escape the imminent threat, Miller fled into the street, where he was struck by a speeding vehicle.
