A Tragic Evening in La Jolla
On the night of September 9, 1998, the serene neighborhood of La Jolla was shattered by a tragic incident. At approximately 10:02 p.m., emergency services received a call reporting a traffic collision on Coast Boulevard. Responding officers arrived to find a red Ford Mustang that had veered off the road, crashing into the front yard of a residence in the 500 block. Inside the vehicle, they discovered 40-year-old Tilda J. Phipps, unresponsive and slumped over the steering wheel. Initial assessments suggested her injuries were a result of the crash.
