Introduction
In early 2023, the tight-knit communities of Odessa and Midland, Texas, were shaken by the disappearance of six-month-old Danny'Ray Couch. The infant was last seen on January 11, 2023, in Odessa, and authorities believe he was taken by his mother, 38-year-old Shallyn Keraly, in an act of custodial interference. Despite extensive efforts by law enforcement and the community, both mother and child remain missing, leaving many unanswered questions and a community desperate for answers.
The Initial Disappearance
On January 12, 2023, the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services (CPS) was granted temporary custody of Danny'Ray. When CPS officials attempted to locate the infant and his mother at their listed residence, they were unsuccessful. This prompted the Midland County Sheriff's Office (MCSO) to initiate an investigation into the child's whereabouts.
