On January 8, 2025, 16-year-old Damaris Escalante Lopez was last seen leaving Woodburn High School at approximately 3:30 p.m. She was wearing a purple blouse, black sweater, blue jeans, white shoes, and carrying a black backpack. Standing at 5 feet tall and weighing 100 pounds, Damaris has black hair and brown eyes. Prior to her disappearance, she expressed a desire to return to Guatemala, her country of origin. This statement has led authorities to consider the possibility that she may have traveled or is attempting to travel there.
Expanding the Search
In the course of their investigation, the Woodburn Police Department received information suggesting that Damaris might be in Laramie, Wyoming. This development has expanded the search beyond Oregon, prompting collaboration with law enforcement agencies in Wyoming.
