A Family's Worst Nightmare Begins

On July 14, 2020, the Taylor family of Columbus, Mississippi, was thrust into a harrowing ordeal when 39-year-old James "Ryan" Taylor vanished without a trace. That evening, Ryan returned to his family's home on Plymouth Road to shower and enjoy a hearty supper. Known for his jovial nature, he was, as always, the "clown" of the family, bringing laughter and light-heartedness to those around him. After dinner, he bid his mother, Laura Taylor, farewell with the words, "I'll see you later, Mama," before leaving for the night. Unbeknownst to them, this would be the last time they would see or hear from him. Ryan was last seen at the Plaza Motel on The Island that evening, and a phone call between 2 and 4 a.m. with his older brother, Kevin, marked his final known communication. The conversation was reportedly normal, offering no hints of the impending mystery. His sudden disappearance was entirely out of character, especially given his close-knit relationship with his family and his routine of checking in daily with his ailing father, Mike.
