A Life Cut Short

On March 24, 2017, Gabriel Williams, a 20-year-old African-American male, was found dead in New Orleans, Louisiana. He was discovered behind the wheel of a vehicle in the Third District, having succumbed to a fatal gunshot wound. The New Orleans Police Department (NOPD) initiated an investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death, with Detective Stephanie Gray leading the effort.

The Investigation

Despite the active investigation, no suspects have been identified, and the case remains unsolved. The lack of witnesses and physical evidence has hindered progress, leaving the circumstances of Gabriel's death shrouded in mystery. The NOPD continues to seek information from the public that could lead to a breakthrough in the case.

A Community's Plea

The murder of Gabriel Williams adds to the growing list of unsolved homicides in New Orleans. According to Project: Cold Case, there are currently around 28,952 unsolved murders in Louisiana, dating from 1980 to 2019. Over time, approximately 18,910 of these homicides have been solved, unfortunately leaving approximately 10,042 unsolved murders in Louisiana alone.
