A Family's Vanishing Act
On January 4, 2018, the disappearance of 20-month-old twins Setina and Ren Weddles from Stockton, California, captured national attention. Their parents, Aaron Ivan Weddles and Princess Dara Canez-Walker, along with three of their other children, were reported missing. Five days later, authorities located the family living in deplorable conditions inside a white 2002 Suzuki SUV near Pixley Slough in Stockton. The twins, however, were not with them and have not been seen since.
Unraveling a Troubled Past
The family's history revealed a pattern of instability and neglect. After the twins' birth on April 7, 2016, hospital staff expressed concerns about the parents' fitness, noting that the twins missed scheduled wellness checkups. Despite these warnings, the children remained in their parents' custody.
