A rape kit, formally known as a Sexual Assault Evidence Collection Kit (SAEK), is a crucial tool in forensic investigations of sexual assault cases. It involves collecting and preserving physical evidence from a survivor's body and belongings shortly after the assault. This evidence can be pivotal in identifying perpetrators and securing convictions.
