On August 31, 2012, 31-year‑old Jaime Javier Gallegos vanished in a tragic maritime accident off Kodiak, Alaska. Gallegos was aboard the 58‑foot crab‑fishing vessel Advantage, which capsized and sank approximately 14 miles southeast of Sitkalidak Island.
