Michael Hugh Camilletti, a 56-year-old retired Army Special Forces Colonel and avid outdoorsman, was last seen at his home in Stanardsville, Virginia, on May 22, 2011. Known for his love of solo hiking and caving, Camilletti often embarked on extended trips without informing anyone of his exact plans. His brother reported him missing on June 12, 2011, after not hearing from him for several weeks.
On June 27, 2011, a West Virginia State Police Trooper located Camilletti's vehicle parked off of Williams River Road in the Monongahela National Forest. Inside the vehicle, authorities found a note written by Camilletti stating that he planned to hike the North-South Trail in the Cranberry Wilderness starting on May 23 and intended to return by May 27.
Following the discovery of Camilletti's vehicle, search and rescue teams initiated an extensive search of the Cranberry Wilderness, a rugged 47,815-acre area in West Virginia. Despite the deployment of multiple search teams and cadaver dogs, no trace of Camilletti was found.
Given Camilletti's experience and the challenging terrain of the Cranberry Wilderness, several theories have emerged regarding his disappearance. Some speculate that he may have suffered an accident or medical emergency during his hike. Others consider the possibility that he intentionally disappeared or encountered unforeseen circumstances. ...Read More

on Vanished at Sea: The Mysterious Disappearance of Cameron Booth Off Chincoteague's Coast
He was a criminal, an abuser, likely who didn't want to face justice of his actions and took his own life because he could not face the consequences of what he did. The victims have told the family his crimes, with evidence. The family knows he was arrested and convicted of possession of CSAM. They know who and what he was. And they're all so equally sick they live in comfort that the victims don't want to retraumatize themselves over everything he put them through. Dont support this families sick parade of using a monster to get sympathy. He was never ashamed of who he was. He loudly boasted his crimes and justified them. The family shouldn't sit there and pretend, how far from reality are they to sit and post this man publicly on news outlets, websites, knowing who he is. Do they need attention that badly? They don't want the attention from the truth. The victims will never get justice. Do not pray for him o
