The Last Known Day: August 26, 2000

On August 26, 2000, 30-year-old Michael Lloyd Laine set out for a day hike in the San Bernardino Mountains. He was last seen at the Ranger Station off Highway 38 in Yucaipa, California, intending to head towards the Momyer Creek Trailhead. Michael planned to return the same day, but he did not. His vehicle was later discovered parked at the Momyer Creek Trailhead parking lot on September 1, 2000.

The Search Efforts

Following Michael's disappearance, the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Search and Rescue team conducted extensive search efforts in the area surrounding the Momyer Creek Trailhead. Despite these efforts, no trace of Michael was found.

Michael Lloyd Laine is described as a White/Caucasian male, approximately 5 feet 11 inches tall, weighing around 160 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. He has a birthmark on his right tricep. At the time of his disappearance, he was wearing a yellow polo shirt with the logo of Comfort Inn.
