Shane Sprague, a 34‑year‑old man from Mountlake Terrace, Washington, was reported missing on August 1, 2010. Known among acquaintances as a survivalist with a deep appreciation for the wild landscapes of the Pacific Northwest, Shane set out from his hometown into the nearby rugged terrain that stretches between Granite Falls and the ghost‑town of Monte Cristo. At the time of his disappearance, Shane stood approximately 6 feet tall and weighed around 152 pounds. He had brown hair and brown eyes.
