An Unsettling Silence in the Alaskan Wilderness

On September 12, 2018, Pamela and Eric Bealer departed for their secluded summer cabin at Green Top on Yakobi Island, near Pelican Bay, Alaska. The couple, both 58 years old, were expected to return by the end of the month. When they failed to reappear, friends grew concerned. On October 5, two friends visited the cabin and found it deserted. A note taped to the window read: 

"To the world and all concerned: This is to officially notify you that Eric and Pam Bealer, by their own choice and free will, have committed suicide. We have gone to some effort to hide our bodies, as we do not want them found. Please do not waste time and money looking. It would serve no purpose. We are gone, leave us to our peace. "
