A Seasoned Mariner and His Ill-Fated Voyage

Captain Jeffrey Allen Hathaway, a seasoned 60-year-old fisherman from Seattle, Washington, was at the helm of the F/V Destination, a 98-foot crab fishing vessel. On February 11, 2017, Hathaway and his crew of five—Kai Hamik, Charles "Glenn" Jones, Lawrence "Larry" O'Grady, Darrik Seibold, and Raymond Vincler—embarked on a routine journey to harvest snow crab in the Bering Sea.
