In early 1988, two-year-old Emon David Harper disappeared from a rural religious compound in Micanopy, Florida. Born on April 1, 1986, Emon was originally from Chicago and had been placed in the care of a family friend, later brought into the so-called House of Prayer for All People. According to child-welfare sources, this religious commune was led by Anna Elizabeth Young, known to members as “Mother Anna”.
The House of Prayer: Roots of Control
Located off Wacahoota Road, the House of Prayer was steeped in Old Testament belief, expecting members to adopt kosher diets, wear robes, and forsake their previous identities—including names. At its peak, the group housed about 24 individuals.
