The Flight That Never Returned

On June 29, 1997, Donald Clyle Johnston, a 44‑year‑old man with red hair and blue eyes, boarded a bright yellow-and-white Cessna 182 at Anchorage’s Merrill Field. Accompanying him were his wife, Karen Johnston , and the couple Monte and Linda Parrish—friends who shared what was likely intended as a scenic sightseeing flight over Denali National Park.
