Background and Disappearance

Franklin Roth, then aged 65, vanished on August 17, 1992, near Gulkana, Alaska. He was aboard a single-engine Beechcraft V35A aircraft, tail number N216JB, alongside fellow pilot Richard Johnson. The plane was last heard from approximately 10 miles east of Gulkana before all contact was lost.
