On the steamy morning of September 3, 2010, Robert Schultze, aged 63, launched his 20-foot Aquasport fishing boat, The Cat’s Meow, into the coastal waters off Portsmouth Harbor. He embarked on what he described as a routine day of fishing for stripers and bluefish—a pastime he relished throughout his life. A Gentleman of the Coast

Described by friends and family as fiercely independent, Schultze was raised in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, and grew up fishing lobster in Rye Harbor.
