The Forgotten Disappearance

Michal Szkodzinski, an elderly man of 85, disappeared under mysterious circumstances in mid‑October 1997. At 5′8″ with gray hair, brown eyes, and weighing roughly 170 pounds, Michal was last seen in the Rampart district of Los Angeles—on either October 15 or 21, depending on the source.  His distinctive attire at the time—dark pants, a white long-sleeve shirt, and a tan derby hat—has become a stark symbol in posters and online archives attempting to bring attention to his vanishing. 

How the Alarm Was Raised

Michal’s sudden absence wasn’t noticed by family but by his landlord.
