On the evening of April 8, 2000, 23-year-old Christopher Joseph Wojnowski left his mother’s home in Eastchester, New York. He was driving his father’s 1989 Toyota Corolla. Shortly afterward, the car was found abandoned on the eastbound side of Bear Mountain Bridge in Fort Montgomery, still running with hazard lights blinking and the passenger-side door open. Inside, his wallet, driver’s license, credit cards, and only $30 remained.
A Puzzling Surveillance Footage Timeline
Surveillance video captured a troubling sequence: around 8:25 PM, Wojnowski is seen exiting the vehicle and pacing toward the bridge railing. Thirty seconds later, the hazard lights come on. By 8:30 PM, a toll collector spots the car and approaches. The young man is now seated in the passenger seat, claiming the driver went to find a payphone.
