At the Canyon Crest apartments in Southeast Fresno, 20-month-old Rashad Halford Jr. was fatally shot while sitting outside with his parents and their friends. The toddler's life was abruptly ended by gunfire, a tragedy that sent shockwaves throughout the community.
The Fateful Night
According to investigators, the evening took a horrific turn when a man in a black hoodie approached the group and opened fire. The assailant's bullets struck young Rashad three times—in the stomach, left hip, and left leg. His father, Rashad Halford Sr., and another man, 42-year-old Willis Mucelroy, were also wounded but survived the attack.
