Residents near 9th Avenue North and 51st Street North were jolted from their routines as bullets pierced the air. When the chaos subsided, two individuals lay lifeless beside a bullet-riddled vehicle: 17-year-old Pervis Andre Polk Jr. and 51-year-old Jocklyn Manley.
The Victims
Pervis Andre Polk Jr., born on December 9, 1999, was a young man with his entire future ahead of him. Described by those who knew him as full of potential, his untimely death left a void in the community. Alongside him, Jocklyn Manley, a 51-year-old resident, also lost her life in the tragic incident.
