The Fateful Evening
On September 14, 1994, the tranquility of San Diego's 4500 F Street was shattered by a violent crime that remains unsolved to this day. At approximately 11:00 PM, residents reported hearing multiple gunshots and the sound of a car speeding away. Fifteen minutes later, police officers arrived at the scene to find 26-year-old Michael Dewayne Strong lying face-down in the street, lifeless from multiple gunshot wounds inflicted by different firearms.
Witness Accounts
In the immediate aftermath, investigators canvassed the neighborhood for witnesses. Several residents recounted hearing the gunfire and a vehicle hastily departing the area. One witness described seeing two African American men near the scene and a white, mid-sized car—possibly a Cadillac or Chrysler—driving westbound on F Street with its headlights off.
