On the evening of June 24, 2014, the small community of Queen City, Texas, was jolted from its usual tranquility. At approximately 10:57 p.m., local law enforcement responded to a distress call reporting a shooting at a residence within the city. Upon arrival, officers discovered two victims: 27-year-old Marshanta Letrice Frank, who was pronounced dead at the scene, and another individual who sustained critical injuries and was airlifted to a Texarkana hospital. The identity of the surviving victim has been withheld to protect their privacy and safety.
The Search for the Suspect
In the immediate aftermath, authorities identified 56-year-old Leon Minniefield as the primary suspect. Reports indicated that Minniefield fled the scene in a tan 1998 Lincoln Excalibur sedan with paper license plates.
