A Young Mother's Life Cut Short

On May 2, 2016, the Edgewater neighborhood of Chicago was shaken by a tragic event: the fatal shooting of 21-year-old mother, Karina Soria-Bautista. At approximately 12:55 a.m., while driving near the intersection of Ridge and Peterson avenues, Karina's vehicle was approached by another car. Without warning, someone from the adjacent vehicle opened fire, fatally wounding Karina with a gunshot to the head. A Community in Shock

Edgewater, known for its relative tranquility, was unaccustomed to such violent incidents.
