A Promising Young Life Cut Short
On the evening of November 8, 2003, the vibrant life of 15-year-old Ann Saephan was tragically ended. Born on January 21, 1987, in Portland, Oregon, Ann moved to Anchorage, Alaska, with her family in July 1998. As a sophomore at Bartlett High School, she was known for her love of singing, dancing, and writing. Her family fondly remembered her as someone who "loved being around friends and family" and was "always helping friends and family in their times of need with a warm and open, loving heart."
The Fateful Gathering at Space Station Video Arcade
That night, Ann joined a group of friends in the parking lot of the Space Station Video Arcade, located at 2710 Spenard Road. The arcade was a popular spot for local teens to socialize and unwind. As the group congregated, an unknown assailant approached and fired multiple shots into the rear of the car where Ann was seated. One of the bullets struck her, resulting in a fatal injury.
