Born on May 31, 1937, in Denver, Colorado, Judith "Judy" Katchen was a vibrant member of her community. An alumna of East High School and the University of Colorado Boulder, she was known for her sharp intellect and diverse interests. Judy had a passion for playing bridge and possessed an astute understanding of the stock market. Her artistic flair and creativity were evident to all who knew her. As a loving mother and grandmother, she was cherished by her family and friends. Her life, filled with warmth and accomplishment, was tragically cut short in August 2015.
The Fateful Discovery
On the evening of August 18, 2015, concerned family members contacted the Denver Police Department after being unable to reach Judy. Officers conducted a welfare check at her residence in the 2500 block of South Dennison Court in southeast Denver. Upon arrival, they discovered the 78-year-old deceased inside her home.
