A Familiar Face in the Community
Todd Colin Ledbetter, born on February 28, 1964, in Pontiac, Illinois, was a well-known figure in the Champaign-Urbana area. Despite facing the challenges of homelessness, Todd maintained a presence that resonated with many in the community. The Night of the Tragedy
On the evening of July 1, 2020, at approximately 11:50 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 100 block of North State Street in response to a reported robbery. Upon arrival, they discovered Todd unresponsive near a park bench adjacent to West Side Park. He had been severely beaten and showed no signs of life.
