A Promising Life Cut Short
On February 22, 2017, the city of Chicago was shaken by the tragic murder of 20-year-old Wilteeah K. Jones. Wilteeah, who was nine months pregnant, was eagerly anticipating the birth of her daughter, Mileah, due in just a few weeks. Her life, filled with hope and promise, was abruptly ended in a senseless act of violence that also claimed the lives of her boyfriend, Malik Bingham, and their unborn child.
The Fateful Night
The evening began with a joyous celebration of Wilteeah's grandmother's 75th birthday at the family's home in Chicago's Chatham neighborhood. After the festivities, Wilteeah and Malik left together, unaware of the danger that awaited them.
