On the evening of December 13, 2013, the tranquility of Cathedral City's Dream Homes neighborhood was disrupted by the sound of gunfire. At approximately 8:31 p.m., residents near San Gabriel Circle and Santa Barbara Drive reported hearing shots, prompting a swift response from the Cathedral City Police Department. Officers canvassed the area and, upon reaching the entrance of Agua Caliente Park, discovered the lifeless body of 33-year-old Jorge "George" Reina. The community was left in shock as they grappled with the sudden and violent loss of a beloved neighbor.

Born on March 11, 1980, to Jorge and Alma Reina in Palm Springs, California, Jorge spent his entire life in the family home, just a few houses away from where he was found.
