A Life Cut Short
On the afternoon of May 14, 2014, at approximately 3:10 PM, the tranquility of Washington, D.C.'s 5800 block of Field Place, NE, was shattered by the sound of gunfire. The victim, identified as 38-year-old Jermaine Dews, was found suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Despite prompt medical attention, Dews succumbed to his injuries at the scene, leaving a community in mourning and a family devastated by an unimaginable loss.
The Immediate Aftermath
In the wake of the shooting, the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) launched an intensive investigation to uncover the circumstances surrounding Dews' death. Detectives canvassed the neighborhood, seeking witnesses and gathering any available evidence. Flyers were distributed throughout the area, appealing to the public for information that could lead to the identification and apprehension of the perpetrator(s).
