In the early hours of May 7, 2017, tragedy struck the Montclare neighborhood on Chicago's Northwest Side. The Fateful Night

Around 2:50 a.m., an armed assailant wearing a ski mask entered El Taconazo through the back entrance. The intruder immediately targeted a 22-year-old employee, shooting him in the back. Turning his attention to Jaime, the gunman demanded he open the cash register. Despite complying, Jaime was shot multiple times. Both victims were rushed to nearby hospitals; tragically, Jaime succumbed to his injuries, while the other employee survived and was reported in stable condition.
