A Promising Life Cut Short
On the evening of April 23, 2016, the Roseland neighborhood on Chicago's South Side was shaken by a tragic event that claimed the life of 23-year-old Tiara Parks. As she and two male companions exited a vehicle near West 114th Street and South Stewart Avenue around 9 p.m., an unidentified assailant approached and opened fire. The sudden eruption of gunshots left the community in shock and mourning.
A Daughter and Mother Remembered
Tiara was the beloved daughter of Michael Parks, a dedicated Cook County Sheriff's deputy serving in the court system. Beyond her role as a daughter, she was a devoted mother to her young son and had recently celebrated her college graduation.
