A Routine Errand Turns Fatal
On the evening of February 19, 2012, the South Shore neighborhood of Chicago was shaken by a tragic event that claimed the life of Gregory "Alamo" Glinsey. The 53-year-old father of four had just celebrated his mother's 80th birthday the day before. Stepping out for a routine errand to a nearby liquor store, Glinsey found himself caught in a deadly crossfire that would leave his family and community in mourning.
The Incident Unfolds
Around 6:45 p.m., Glinsey stood outside the Budget Food and Liquor Store located in the 2500 block of East 79th Street. Without warning, a beige vehicle approached, and individuals inside opened fire on the crowd gathered near the store. In the ensuing chaos, seven people were struck by bullets. Glinsey, shot in the chest, was pronounced dead at the scene.
