The Fateful Evening

On the evening of February 15, 2016, the Little Haiti neighborhood of Miami was shaken by a tragic event. At approximately 7:15 p.m., Miami Police responded to reports of gunfire at a residence located near Northeast 75th Street and Northeast Miami Court. Upon arrival, officers discovered the lifeless bodies of two women inside the home: 44-year-old Shalanda Lynn and 29-year-old Yolaine Murat.

The Victims

Family members identified one of the victims as Shalanda Lynn, describing her as a vibrant and loving mother. Her sister, Tongala Lynn, expressed disbelief and sorrow, noting that Shalanda had not indicated any problems or threats prior to the incident.
