A Promising Life Cut Short

On September 24, 1998, the serene trails of the Metropolitan District Commission (MDC) Reservoir in Farmington, Connecticut, became the backdrop for a tragic event. Agnieszka "Agnes" Ziemlewski, a 26-year-old resident of West Hartford, was found brutally murdered, shot three times at close range. Her lifeless body lay just 100 feet from the gate at Old Mountain Road, near the West Hartford-Farmington border. This heinous act not only shattered the tranquility of the area but also left a community grappling with fear and unanswered questions.

From Poland to Connecticut: Agnes's Journey

Born in Poland, Agnes emigrated to the United States with her family in the early 1980s, seeking a better life. They settled in Hartford, where she lived with her parents and two sisters. A bright student, Agnes graduated from Bulkeley High School in 1989 and later earned her degree from the University of Connecticut. At the time of her death, she was building a promising career at United Health Care in Hartford and had recently moved into her own apartment in West Hartford.
