A Fateful Evening in Northeast D.C.
In the early hours of December 22, 2012, the quiet of Northeast Washington, D.C., was shattered by a violent crime that remains unsolved to this day. At approximately 1:55 a.m., 44-year-old Raymond Harris and his friend, 69-year-old Nathaniel Beasley Jr., were seated in Harris's Chevy Impala on the 1100 block of Bladensburg Road NE when they were both shot. Harris was found lying dead in the road, while Beasley, critically injured, was discovered in the passenger seat. Despite being rushed to the hospital, Beasley succumbed to his injuries the following morning.
The Aftermath and Ongoing Investigation
In the immediate aftermath, the Metropolitan Police Department launched an intensive investigation into the double homicide. Detectives canvassed the area, seeking witnesses and reviewing surveillance footage. Despite these efforts, the case remains unsolved, with no arrests made to date.
