On December 25, 2017, the joyous atmosphere of Christmas was shattered in Phoenix, Arizona, when 33-year-old Candy Belen Salazar was found dead in an alley near South Central Avenue and West Saint Catherine Avenue, just south of Southern Avenue. The discovery was made around 6:30 p.m., casting a somber shadow over the holiday festivities.
