A Tragic Morning in Houston
On the morning of October 26, 1998, the tranquility of the Brandy Creek condominium complex in west Houston was shattered by a heinous act of violence. At approximately 7:20 a.m., 25-year-old Peggy Lynn Howard was escorting her 6-year-old daughter, Allyssa, to school. As they exited their condominium at 3921 Tanglewilde Street, an assailant approached and shot Peggy twice in the parking lot. The young mother collapsed, fatally wounded, while her daughter witnessed the horrifying event unfold.
The Assailant's Profile
Witnesses described the shooter as a Hispanic male, estimated to be between 12 and 15 years old, with a slim build and a thin mustache. He was reportedly wearing a purple and green "Starter" sports jacket, a dark-colored baseball cap, and possibly carrying a blue backpack. After the shooting, the suspect fled the scene, entering the passenger side of a late 1980s model black two-door Chevrolet Cavalier, which had a minor dent on the front left quarter panel.
