A Promising Life Cut Short

On the afternoon of October 25, 2016, 21-year-old Kyrisha Seanae Armstrong was tragically shot while seated in the back of a gray vehicle parked at 6549 Virgilian Street in the Pines Village neighborhood of New Orleans. The vehicle also contained her boyfriend, Marion Moses, his brother Rufus, an unidentified male, and a 2-year-old child. An unknown assailant opened fire on the vehicle, striking Kyrisha in the back. She was the only occupant injured in the attack.

A Chaotic Response

Emergency services responded promptly, and an ambulance was dispatched to transport Kyrisha to the hospital. However, en route, the ambulance was involved in a collision with a red pickup truck towing a boat. A second ambulance was dispatched and took over the transport. Despite these efforts, Kyrisha succumbed to her injuries at the hospital.

Investigation and Arrests

In the aftermath, Marion Moses and his brother Rufus were arrested for obstruction of justice. The charges were based on their contradictory statements regarding the shooting and their actions in discarding firearms they used to return fire. Surveillance footage confirmed that the brothers had returned fire during the incident. Additionally, they provided conflicting information about the identity of the third adult male in the vehicle.

A Case Still Open

Despite these developments, no motive or suspect has been identified in Kyrisha's murder. The case remains open, with authorities hoping that someone will come forward with information that could lead to an arrest.
